Diabetes educators from the Northern Kentucky Diabetes Coalition will be participating in two supermarket tours to provide real-time nutrition information to those with or at risk for diabetes.
- Florence: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at the Meijer located at 4990 Houston Road, Florence, Ky.
- Cold Spring: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at the Meijer located at 5400 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Ky.
Participants should meet in the café area near the produce department.
Participants will get helpful tips for healthy shopping, learn to read labels and learn how carbohydrate counting can be incorporated into grocery shopping. Plus, all participants will receive a reusable shopping bag with information about diabetes.
The Northern Kentucky Diabetes Coalition was formed to bring together key stakeholders to improve access to diabetes information, education, and treatment options in the Northern Kentucky region.
Tours will be led by a Certified Diabetes Educator and/or a Registered Dietitian.
