Florence man thrown from motorcycle, killed in overnight accident on Pleasant Valley Road

A Florence Man was killed early Thursday morning in a motorcycle accident on Pleasant Valley Road.

Police say Jason Kloeker, 35, of Florence, was traveling westbound on Pleasant Valley Road when the motorcycle he was driving left the roadway and struck several fences and a tree. Kloeker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office issued the following statement regarding the incident:

On Thursday, May 26, 2016 at approximately 2:32 a.m. a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle near 7839 Pleasant Valley Road (KY 237) in Florence, Kentucky claimed the life of the motorcycle operator and closed both lanes of the roadway for approximately three hours.

A 2014 Harley Davidson, driven by Jason Kloeker, 35 of Florence, Kentucky, was traveling westbound near the 7800 block of Pleasant Valley Road when he crossed the double yellow line into the opposing lane of travel and exited the roadway on the left side into an embankment/ditch.

The motorcycle continued through the embankment/ditch where it then struck multiple wood fences and a tree causing Kloeker to be thrown from the motorcycle.  First responding Deputies, Sgt. Matt Sauerbeck, Wes Anderson, and Jeff Nagy attempted CPR on Kloeker however he was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The roadway was reopened at approximately 6:15 a.m.  Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the collision.  Next of kin has been notified.

The collision is being investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit.  Any witnesses or anyone with information please contact Lt. Chris Hall or Deputy Drew Christian at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 859-334-2175.
