Kenton County Parks provides an opportunity for Northern Kentuckians to discover the fascinating world of wildlife this summer.
From May 18 to August 17, join Kenton County Parks & Recreation (KCP&R) for their 17th season of award-winning Wild Wednesdays! presented by Toyota. The thirteen programs, which begin at 10 a.m., are free and open to the public and last about an hour.
They take place, rain or shine, at Middleton-Mills Park in Shelterhouse 2.
Wild Wednesdays! are for everyone. All you need is a sense of wonder and KCP&R will take care of the rest.
Learn simple definitions for big words such as biodiversity, endangered, conservation, preservation, adaptation, ecosystem, indigenous, extinction, specialization, and interdependence.
Arrive early for best seating. Be sure to check for pre-program start times (9:30 or 9:45 a.m.) or post-programs (11 a.m.), as they vary, depending upon who’s there.
Visitors are encouraged to stick around for free raffles of terrific donated prizes. Wild Wednesday! snack lunches will also be available for $1 per person.
As with most of KCP&R programs, activities and events, Wild Wednesdays! are free to attend and enjoy.
Instead of money, KCP&R collects donations of non-perishable food and personal care items for Be Concerned.
The address is 3415 Mills Road in Covington. From I-275, take Covington/Taylor Mill exit (Exit 79), go south on KY16 seven miles to Mills Road, go east (turn left) on Mills Road and go one mile to the park.
