UpTech, Greater Cincinnati’s accelerator for data-driven startups, announced today that applications for their fifth cohort, UpTech 5, will open on Monday, May 16.
The program is set to begin in September and run through March, 2017. Applications will be open for six-weeks, with a deadline to apply of June 26 at 11:59 p.m.
UpTech is seeking to invest a total of $500,000 in their fifth cohort. As many as 10 companies will receive up to $50,000 each. UpTech is seeking data-driven, tech-enabled businesses offering their scalable products in large markets.
The UpTech program offers participants benefits going well beyond investment dollars.
UpTech helps its startups get market ready by providing each with: startup education, one-on-one weekly advising, six months of free co-working space, dedicated legal and accounting counsel, and early feedback through an investor relationship with CONNETIC Ventures.
In addition, participants have access to staff resources for aid in graphic design and tech development, an entrepreneur speaker series with 30-plus speakers, access to more than 200 mentors, university student intern grant, and gigabit internet.
Regionally, UpTech is an active member in the #StartupCincy community.
Participants are able to leverage the regional support of hundreds of developing and established startup entrepreneurs in the region. Additionally, as a result of UpTech’s connection with Cintrifuse, cohort participants are exposed to a wide network of entrepreneurs, mentors, big companies and customers in the region.
UpTech’s support of its portfolio companies is strengthened through its unique partnership with The Kentucky Innovation Network at Northern Kentucky.
Following graduation, UpTech’s portfolio companies continue to receive one-on-one advising and are connected to investors through the partnership with The Kentucky Innovation Network at Northern Kentucky. UpTech’s portfolio companies to date have secured $3.5 million in follow-on funding as well as two exits.
