Weather Oar Knot “The Knot” Marina Donates Boat to Help Raise Funds to Build Long Awaited Catholic School in Northern Kentucky

St. Timothy’s Parish in Union, KY will enjoy 100 percent of the profits of the sale of donated Pontoon Boat to help with cost of building new Elementary School.

As an important part of the Catholic faith giving is an important lesson. Now St. Tim’s is receiving because of a very generous local business.

Weather Oar Knot Marina recently donated a new 2015, 23-foot Crest Classic SLC Pontoon Boat with a 150-horse power Mercury Outboard. The pontoon boat is fully equipped with captains chairs, canopy and more, and is now for sale, proceeds from the $55,000 asking price will go to help build the school.

The donation from Weather Oar Knot Marina, located at 4895 Beaver Road in Union on Gunpowder Creek, will benefit the building of the highly anticipated St. Tim’s Elementary School.

Weather Oar Knot is a full-service marina with a bar and grill, ship store, marine fuel, and on- and off-water storage. It sells new and used pleasure and fishing boats.

The new elementary school will be fully equipped with a resource room for special classes for students who excel outside the classroom.

St. Timothy’s Director of Operations and Special Events Jen Fedders said the new school is slated to include a STEM Room.

“A STEM Room is designed for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math,” Fedders said.

St. Timothy’s Elementary School will be located directly behind the Parish, at 10272 US-42 in Union. It is designed as a feeder school to St. Henry High School in Erlanger.

Father Rick Bolte explained the need for an elementary school to serve the families of St. Timothy’s Parish.

“ To encourage and enable the children of St. Timothy to go to a Catholic elementary school,” Fr. Bolte said, “ To share the good news of our faith with our children is about the highest calling we have as parents and as a parish.”

St. Timothy’s Elementary School groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Friday, June 17, at 6 p.m. at the Parish with the Most Reverend Bishop Robert Foys presiding.

The new school is slated to be completed by June 2017 with a capacity of 250 students grades K-8.
