If it were anywhere else, the anxious traveler might have to quell their nerves with some over-the-counter psychotropic; but this is Kentucky, and the much gentler approach is to bring in the horses.

The small ones.

There’s something very therapeutic about them.

To bring smiles to passengers’ faces and calm nerves during their travel experience, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) has teamed up with Seven Oaks Farm to bring miniature-therapy horses to the airport.

As part of CVG’s mission to make traveling through the airport an unforgettably positive experience, the program will be ongoing and the horses will visit the airport twice a month.

Celebrating the official launch of the program, Dakota and Denver will visit the main terminal dressed in Derby attire today from 2 to 3 p.m., just in time for 142nd Kentucky Derby.

Seven Oaks Farm Miniature Therapy Horses is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide mobile therapeutic services to children and adults through equine assisted activities leading to positive mental, emotional and physical benefits.

They use their teams of trained volunteers, along with several teams of highly trained therapy horses, to meet their goal of horses helping people and people helping horses.

They believe that horses have the ability to connect with children and adults in a very special way that leads to tremendous benefits for both people and horses. The farm is located in Hamilton.
