Former Campbell County District Court Judge Timothy L. Nolan has filed suit in Circuit Court against Michael Combs, Harold Stephens, Kenneth Turner, Tyler Owens and others, seeking injunctive relief, compensatory damages, and punitive damages.
His attorney is J. Christian Dennery of Dennery, PLLC, of Covington.

Nolan’s suit alleges that the named defendants, and other unknown speakers, maliciously, intentionally, or recklessly published a picture which purports to show Nolan dressed in a KKK hood and gown, along with a written caption that falsely accuses Nolan of being “one of Campbell County’s most vehement racists.”
The caption also implies that Nolan is an alcoholic, according to the complaint.
Nolan’s suit outlines a legal career devoted to helping indigent persons of all races, and details his activities as a community leader and within the Republican Party of Kentucky.
The complaint further alleges that the rescission of Nolan’s appointment to the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission was due in large part to the defamatory statements and the stigma attached to the untrue charges of racism.
The majority of the allegations are directed at Nolan’s political rival, Michael Combs, chairman of the GOP Facts Committee, which hosts the GOPFacts.org website where the picture and false statements are still posted.
