Dr. Lori Garkovich, an expert in Rural Communities from the University of Kentucky, will be presenting the findings at the event. The results from the survey will be used to further implement the vision set forth in Direction 2030.

“This survey is important in many ways. In order to plan for the future, we have to know what the community wants,” said Kathy Donohoue, chair of the zoning committee for SKCCG. “We were encouraged to bring our voice forward to Fiscal Court and the survey results are a direct reflection of the thoughts and vision of our community.”

The survey covered topics such as zoning, law enforcement, farming, tourism, roadways, conservation, river access, economic planning addressing agriculture, heritage preservation, industry and more.

The 2016 survey is a follow-up from the survey completed two years ago. The 2014 survey told the SKCCG what the community saw as important for the rural community and its future, as reflected in Direction 2030. The 2016 survey will provide insight and direction of how to achieve that vision.

The South Kenton County Citizens Group has been working with Kenton County Fiscal Court, the Kenton County Extension Office, Planning and Development Services, Planning Commission, the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, and the real estate community.

Honey Locust Farms is located at 15100 Madison Pike, in Morning View.
