Gateway offering free workshops for professionals starting with hiring veterans, effective listening


Gateway Community and Technical College is offering free workshops for business professionals beginning July 15.
 
Each month, sessions will preview Gateway workforce solutions for business and be offered at various Gateway campuses.

The first workshop, July 15, 12-1:00 p.m., will provide tips and techniques for hiring skilled veterans. This highly engaging session features Dan Knowles, Tri-State Veterans Community Alliance and Lisa Roberts-Rosser, Cincinnati Economic Liaison for the Veteran Economic Communities Initiative with The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This session will take place at Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence, in the BB&T Classroom and Training Center, room 120.
 
On July 26, participants will learn the power of effective listening. Mike Koch, Gateway corporate trainer, will discuss specific listening techniques and barriers to effective communication. This session will take place at Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence, in the Center for Advanced Manufacturing, room B104-A.
 
All sessions are free and open to the public.
