KCTCS summer enrollment numbers trending higher year-over-year; new ‘express enrollment’ offered

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s (KCTCS) summer enrollment numbers are higher than they were last year at this point and are on pace to surpass 2015 total summer enrollment.

Systemwide enrollment is up 2 percent, with some colleges showing increases from 2– 25 percent.

Three colleges – Maysville Community and Technical College, Ashland Community and Technical College and Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College – are at least 10 percent above where they were last year at this time and above their official Summer 2015 counts as well.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College also is up more than 10 percent from last year at this point, but hasn’t surpassed its official Summer 2015 count.

Other colleges showing increases as of June 24 were Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Gateway Community and Technical College, Hazard Community and Technical College, Somerset Community College, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College and West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

“It’s encouraging to see our enrollment numbers headed in the right direction,” said KCTCS President Jay K. Box. “We’re optimistic these numbers will continue to go up and that we’ll also see an increase for our fall enrollment.”

The 16 colleges of KCTCS are offering students a one-stop enrollment opportunity during the week of July 18. Express Enrollment week is an event to help prospective students with one-on-one advising regarding enrollment, financial aid, scheduling and other items that need to be completed for the fall semester. Additionally, if a student has not taken a required test, that can be scheduled as well.
