The Cheryl Renée Project returns to Music@BCM bigger and better. The dynamic bandleader, keyboardist, song stylist and “Goddess of the Blues” brings her potent vocals and high-energy performance to Behringer-Crawford Museum for an evening of “Bourbon ‘n’ Blues” on Thursday, July 28.
A self-taught musician who began performing professionally at age 17, Renée toured with top 40 and show bands throughout the U.S. and Canada, and with the USO in Germany, Japan, Korea and the Philippines. She was part of the Boston blues scene in the ’80s and ’90s and played at the opening of the original House of Blues.

After 30 years, Cheryl moved back to her Cincinnati roots and began the Cheryl Renée Project. In 2005, she teamed up with local band Them Bones, with whom she won third place at the International Blues Competition in Memphis in 2010. She is currently working on an all-original CD, “Goddesses.”
The family-friendly concert takes place in BCM’s amphitheater at 1600 Montague Road – Devou Park, Covington.
In the event of rain, the performance moves indoors. Doors open at 6 p.m. with food and refreshments, with the performance running from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12, which includes admission to Behringer-Crawford Museum on concert evenings.
Museum members receive one free admission when they bring a paying guest. One guest = one member free! Good for up to two free admissions. Adult beverages are available for purchase.
Concert-goers can also purchase food by Colonial Cottage, supporting local community organizations. Parking is free.
Music@BCM continues each Thursday evening through August 11. For more information, call 859-491-4003, email info@bcmuseum.org or go to www.bcmuseum.org.
