The Windy City ThunderBolts took game two over the Florence Freedom Tuesday, scoring early and often in a 16-1 romp.
The Freedom got on the board first in the opening inning with Taylor Oldham’s seventh home run of the season, but Windy City took over the game from there.
The ThunderBolts scored two runs without a hit off of Marty Anderson in the first inning and never trailed again. Anderson allowed five runs in his 2 2/3 innings. He walked three and hit one batter, and all of those runners came around to score.

Windy City added six in the fourth and five in the eighth. In between, Ben Allison tossed four innings, allowing just two hits, one run, and one walk.
Corey Bass led the way for Windy City offensively with two home runs and six RBIs, including a grand slam in the eighth. Coco Johnson had a bases-clearing double in the fourth, and Ransom LaLonde plated two on a single in the third. The ThunderBolts batted around twice and totaled 13 hits to score their 16 runs.
Oldham scored the only run for the Freedom on his home run, while Godbold and Salazar both added doubles. Pete Levitt stranded the bases loaded in the eighth.
The Freedom look to take the series in game three Wednesday. Jordan Kraus (0-1, 5.22 ERA) will take the hill for Florence against Brady Muller (2-5, 3.24 ERA) and the ThunderBolts. The game is slated to start at 10:35 a.m.
