People in News: Grout returns to C-Forward, Wurth speaks at Kenton Rotary, Steely Library scholarships


Mike Grout is returning to C-Forward, an Information Technology Services firm headquartered in Covington. He assume his previous role as Technical Services Manager.

An NKU graduate (Class of 2006) and a Leadership Northern Kentucky Graduate (Class of 2013), Grout will lead C-Forward’s technical service team with the goal of providing extraordinary customer service. He will be coordinating and managing technical projects for non-profit, government and for-profit clients. As part of C-Forward’s leadership team, he will also be assisting in several aspects of the company’s daily operations.

After ten years with C-Forward, Grout left last year to pursue other interests.

Said Grout, “After almost 10 years, I left to get perspective on my career and professional goals. After a short time away, I confirmed that C-Forward’s mission and vision is exactly in alignment with my personal beliefs and goals. I believe that to be successful, you have to be passionate about your work. For me, trying to make our business, our employees and our clients a little better is what gets me out of bed each morning. Leading a team towards our goal of helping businesses successfully leverage technology is exciting to me. I love what we do and am very happy to be back!”

Mike lives in Edgewood with his wife Lisa and their dog Scooter.

Rick Wurth to speak at Kenton Rotary

Rick Wurth, Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Kenton County’s luncheon meeting on Thursday, July 21.

The mission of Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky is to be a community leader providing children and families with opportunity and hope for better lives. The vision of Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky is for every child to be safe, healthy and loved in a supportive, nurturing environment.

The luncheon will begin at noon at the Colonial Cottage Inn, 3140 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky. There will be limited seating by reservation only. To make a reservation, please contact Steve Gillespie at (859) 371-2900. The cost to cover the lunch is $12.00 per person.

Friends of Steely Library scholarships

Bardstown native Leigh Anna Voigt and Independence native Elizabeth Gauck are the 2016 recipients of Northern Kentucky University’s recently established Friends of Steely Library Scholarship.

The Friends of Steely Library are alumni, faculty, staff and community members who are dedicated to promoting the interests of the W. Frank Steely Library at Northern Kentucky University.

The Friends scholarship was established to assist academically successful students majoring in library informatics to continue and complete their online bachelor’s degree at Northern Kentucky University.
 
Leigh Anna Voigt is a junior library informatics major from Bardstown who is currently employed at the Nelson County Public Library. She is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Golden Key Collegiate Honor Society.
 
Elizabeth Gauck is a senior library informatics/English double major from Independence. She is the Assistant Editor of the Loch Norse Magazine, a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta fraternity (based on academic merit), and works in the dean’s office in the College of Informatics as a receptionist. In her spare time, Elizabeth is also working on writing a novel.
