Rob’s Kids is hosting a golf outing Monday, August 8 at Traditions Golf Club benefiting local efforts to efforts to prevent suicide among children and young adults.
Foursomes and individual golfers can register for a few remaining spots. The event begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and ends with a dinner at 5:30 p.m.
Rob’s Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids get back up again to prevent suicide among young people. It provides support for children’s mental health professionals in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati, as well as resources for families of young people who are struggling with mental health issues.
“Suicide is the second leading cause of death among teenagers and young adults,” said Rob’s Kids founder Stephanie Potter. “Proceeds from the outing will go to fund vital mental health services that help kids get back up from depression or post-traumatic stress, rather than sink toward suicide.”
Potter began Rob’s Kids after her family experienced the trauma of her son-in-law’s suicide and later when his daughter contemplated suicide. That daughter received care from professionals at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, graduated from high school and will soon enter college, a living example that there is hope and effective care for mental health disorders.
Outing fees are $145 for individual golfers and $580 for foursomes. The fee for dinner only is $40. To register and learn more, please go to www.robskids.org or to register go to http://help.robskids.org/golf-registration/ .
