‘Skip’ Fangman, former mayor of Park Hills, dies at age 81; services tomorrow at St. Agnes


Leonard “Skip” Fangman who served as mayor, vice-mayor and councilman for Park Hills died July 3 at the age of 81.

He lived in Elsmere.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Rauen) Famagman and children Jeffrey (Lisa), Jane, Lisa, Doug, Dan (Michelle) and Timothy (Jessica), 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael Joseph Fangman and brother James E. Fangman.

He is also survived by his brother Donald Fangman and sister Jane Fangman.

‘Skip’ was born Dayton and graduated from St Xavier in 1952.

He pursued his love of music by directing choirs at St. Henry, St. Agnes (47 years) and most recently at St. John’s Catholic Church.

He followed in his family plumbing business, going on to serve as Business Agent for Local #59.

All services will be held at St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright, on Thursday, July 7. Visitation will be from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Mass to begin at 7 p.m. A reception will follow at St. Agnes Undercroft.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center or the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home.
