The annual Campbell County Backroads Farm Tour will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — rain or shine. It is free and family-friendly, but please don’t bring pets.
It’s a self-guided auto tour of eleven diverse farms that have opened their gates to the public to experience local agriculture first hand.
The tour is presented by Campbell County Conservation District Farmland Work Group to showcase the best of Campbell County agriculture, farm operations, wineries and more.

Awesome Place will be offering hayride tours of the farm. They are at the beginning of a commercial meat goat herd and grow various fruits and vegetables without herbicides or pesticides.
Other stops include: Misty Ridge Farm, Neltner’s Farm, Camp Springs Vineyard & Winery StoneBook Winery, Little Rock Farm, Saddle Lake Equestrian Center, all in Camp Springs (Melbourne); Seven Wells Vineyard & Winery in California; and Campbell County Log Cabin Museum and Casson and Ahrman Farm in Grants Lick.
Sandwiches and drinks will be available for purchase.
Helpful hints:
– Dress for a farm visit, wearing sturdy shoes, and be prepared with all-weather clothing.
– Many of the farms will have food and beverages for sale and most will have handicapped restrooms available.
– Bring a cooler in case you want to purchase farm fresh produce, freezer beef or other items that will be available at some of the farms.
– Don’t forget your camera.
