Thompson to head Emergency Communications Center
Thomas “Tommy” Thompson has been named Executive Director of the Kenton County Emergency Communications Center.

Thompson has over 20 years of experience as a Project Manager/Public Safety Communications Professional. He worked with the State of Michigan as a Field Service Manager for the Michigan Public Safety Communications System. He provided leadership and management to the largest Project 25 Public Safety Communication Radio System in North America. He most recently served as a Project Manager for Mission Critical Partners as a consultant for 911 and Public Safety First Responders.
Thompson has earned a number of certifications including: Emergency Number Professional, Project Management Professional, Associated Public Safety Communications Officers Radio Telephone Technician, General Radiotelephone Operator License, Scrum Fundamentals Certified, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and Amateur Radio License KK4YMO from the Federal Communications Commission.
“With his knowledge and experience with radio systems, I am confident that he will help lead us forward in the right direction especially as we work towards the upgrade of our current radio system,” said Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann.

Daniel Fergason joins Geotechnology
Daniel A. Furgason has joined Geotechnology as the Geotechnical Group Manager for the firm’s Cincinnati Branch. Geotechnology, Inc. is a leading provider of geotechnical and environmental engineering, geophysics, water resource management, materials testing and drilling services.
The firm substantially increased its presence in the Cincinnati area in 2015 when it acquired Thelen Associates.
Furgason’s leadership responsibilities will include staff management, client management and development, as well as senior technical review.
A graduate of Ohio State University, Furgason is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan. He has more than 30 years of Geotechnical Engineering and Project Management experience in the Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio markets.
