Wine Over Water, benefiting Brighton Center, coming up this weekend, at Newport’s Purple People Bridge

Wine Over Water, presented by BB&T is just days away on Saturday August 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Newport’s Purple People Bridge.

The 9th Annual Wine Over Water is an evening of tasting exquisite wines, local craft beer, and delectable foods all while raising funds to support a vital community resource – Brighton Center.

This year is special for the Center as it is the organization’s 50th anniversary of transforming lives.

The 9th Annual Wine Over Water tasting event will feature exceptional local wines from Baker-Bird Winery, Cave Hill Vineyard & Winery, Elk Creek Vineyards, Forest Edge Winery, Horseshoe Bend Vineyards, Old 502 Winery, StoneBrook Winery, and an international tasting selection along with a selection of beers from Braxton Brewing Company. Food vendors include B&B Riverboats, Buckhead Mountain Grill, Center Table Catering, City Barbecue, Edible Arrangements, Cincinnati Airport Marriott, Fireside Pizza, and Hofbrauhaus. Live entertainment will be provided by Sound Body Jazz Orchestra and guests will enjoy spectacular sunset views from the bridge.

Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 if purchased at the door and price includes a souvenir tasting glass, six food and six drink tickets. Tickets are limited and last year the event sold out. For an extra $15 attendees can enjoy a VIP 30-minute premium international wine tasting, led by Sommelier Mary Horn, Vice President of Fine Wine Sales & Education, Heidelberg Distributing.

The tasting will include three additional wines and cheeses for pairing. The VIP tastings are sponsored by Dep’s Fine Wine & Spirits and is close to selling out.
