In recognition of Patriot Day on September 11, 2016, Newport Aquarium will offer free admission to first responders this weekend.
Newport Aquarium showcases thousands of animals from around the world in a million gallons of water, including the enormously popular “Sweet Pea” and “Scooter,” the stars of the first shark ray breeding program in the world.
Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, state troopers, correction officers, 911 dispatchers, and other professionals involved in law enforcement, investigations and emergency response can receive free admission to Newport Aquarium from September 9 to 11.
To be eligible visitors just need to present a professional credential, along with a valid government-issued photo ID, at the Newport Aquarium ticket window.
Family members and friends who accompany police, firefighters and first responders at the Newport Aquarium ticket window can receive discounts of $3 off adult and $2 off child (ages 2-12) admission.
Newport Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums which sets the rigorous professional standards for animal welfare, veterinary care, wildlife conservation, research, education, staffing and safety.
The Aquarium, which is open to the public 365 days a year, is located only two minutes from downtown Cincinnati at Newport on the Levee.
