Nearly one year after construction began on a new $14 million senior living community in Elsmere, the project has entered its home stretch as Emerald Trace on Turkeyfoot expects to open its doors in December.
Located less than 10 miles from Rosedale Green, its sister community in Covington, Emerald Trace will offer 74 skilled nursing and memory care residences. The residences will be split between two buildings, one housing 34 short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation residences, and the other housing 20 memory care and 20 long-term skilled nursing residences.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the positive impacts this project will have on the area,” said Londa Knollman, executive director at Rosedale Green. “In a couple of short months, we’ll have another modern campus to complement the services and support Rosedale Green has provided older adults in Northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati area for decades.”
The community, which will employ approximately 60 full-time professionals, is being designed in the Household Model developed by Steve Shields and LaVrene Norton of Action Pact, LLC. Each floor of the two-story buildings will comprise a “household” that will balance independent apartment space with a variety of common areas such as kitchens and dining areas.
“The Household Model is much more resident-focused,” said Knollman. “The layout encourages more interaction among residents, creating an inclusive environment that makes it easier for neighbors to socialize and truly embody the spirit of community.”
With the project’s completion on the horizon, Knollman will host the first pre-opening seminar on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 11:30 a.m. for prospective residents and their families at Summit Hills Country Club in Crestview Hills.
Speaking at the event will be Elaine C. Pereira, an occupational therapist and author of I Will Never Forget.
“We’re so grateful to have Elaine speak with our audience,” said Knollman. “I believe her professional experience, and her personal journey caring for her mother with dementia, will resonate with participants and underline the valuable programs, services and resources that will be available at Emerald Trace.”
Located at 3802 Turkey Foot Road in Elsmere, the Emerald Trace campus will sit on 16 acres of private, park-like land. For more information, visit emeraldtrace.org, call 859-342-0200.
