The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 office wants to inform the public that the new interstate ramp that takes traffic from Mall Road to the connector road that feeds into I-75 southbound is now open.

“The project added a new southbound I-75 entrance ramp from Mall Road,” said Bob Yeager, Acting Chief District Engineer for Department of Highways District 6, in Covington. “Having this direct access to I-75 will greatly improve traffic flow.”
The $2.1 million project began in late March.
Mayor Diane E. Whalen and members of Florence City Council held a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Tuesday to celebrate the opening of the new ramp.
“Opening the new southbound ramp will provide yet another option for accessing the expressway and provide relief on U.S. 42 and Burlington Pike,” Whalen said. “We appreciate working with the State of Kentucky to find solutions to our traffic congestion. The ramp should be a huge help now and during the upcoming holiday season.”
The new ramp officially opened for use Wednesday at around 1:30 pm.
