Physi fitness app to be official platform for NKY Chamber’s Wellness Challenge 2017

The makers of the fitness app Physi have announced a partnership with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to be the official platform for the North Kentucky Chamber’s Wellness Challenge in 2017. During the challenge, employees at 50-70 companies in Northern Kentucky will adopt the Physi app to compete with one another during the six-week wellness challenge, which kicks off January 5.

The app, available for both iOS and Android platforms, allows users to connect with individuals in their own companies or other community members to get active. In addition to activity participation, companies will track other health assessment items such as blood pressure and regular checkups. At the end of the six-week period, a winning company will be announced.

“We’re excited to partner up with Physi to help power our 2017 NKY Chamber Wellness Challenge,” said Tiffany Osborne, Vice President, Workforce at the NKY Chamber. “Physi’s app is easy to use, and the social integration will help increase engagement among participants. Plus, it’s going to make reporting easy for all of our participating companies.”

In advance of the wellness challenge, Physi plans to release a 2.0 version. The updated version will include a more social aspect making it easier for people to join their friends and community members in activities.

“A major benefit of using the Physi app is that it removes obstacles to engaging in physical activity by facilitating the planning and sourcing of partners for activities that individuals enjoy, whether that be basketball, yoga, or running,” said Matt Vorst, Physi CEO. “Our new version makes it easier than ever to find someone in your company or in the community to get active.”

The Physi app can now be used as a part of corporate wellness programs, and can be customized to fit a company’s specific goals and incentives. Through the use of custom promotional codes, users can join corporate groups as well as groups of friends, sports leagues, and family play-date groups.

Physi was launched in 2015 by Vorst, a software developer and one of DotLoop’s original co-founders (recently sold to online real estate giant Zillow Group) and Craig Herget, a graphic designer, marketing guru, and owner of CORE design team. The Physi app’s development began in 2015 and it was released publicly in the fourth quarter of 2015. Since that time, they have continued to add users and grow with community partners. Looking forward, they are focused on continued business partnerships and consumer usage.

Physi is a mobile app available for both iOS and Android platforms that allows fitness-minded individuals of all ages, families, and employees engaged in corporate wellness programs, to connect with partners or players for more than 50 sports activities ranging from mountain biking, to billiards, to tennis, golf, kayaking and volleyball. Physi allows users to search in “real time” as well as schedule future events. Launched in Cincinnati in 2015, Physi is leading a movement to make it easy for individuals to get out, get active and engage in play. For more information, visit http://www.physi.rocks.
