The Covington Transit Center reopened this week after completion of a renovation that started in May.

The TANK Covington Transit Center project included the renovation of TANK’s central transit hub in downtown Covington located on the ground level of an existing parking garage.

The renovated transit hub transforms the space into a fully functional, comfortable, secure, and operational transit center. Improvements include new ceiling and wall elements with integrated lighting, a new raised platform with granite curbs to better separate rider and bus traffic, and new graphics and signage. The new design also reconfigures the transit center into a ‘saw-tooth’ layout to accommodate four distinct bus stop locations.

The center is the systems main transfer facility.

The Covington Transit Center is re-open for business! Come check it out! The time-lapse video below shows the construction from start to finish.
