Thomas More College is hosting an open house of its BB&T Observatory on Saturday, November 12, for “The Marvelous Moon.”
The evening begins at 7 p.m. in Steigerwald Hall in the Saints Center with a talk by Dean Regas.
“The Marvelous Moon” will focus on the craters, mountains, and the landing sites of the Apollo astronauts as well as the different phases of the moon. Following the talk, weather permitting, everyone is welcome to come to the Observatory on the TMC campus at 8 p.m. for some night sky viewing.
Dean Regas is an outreach astronomer for the Cincinnati Observatory. He is also the co-host of PBS Star Gazers and author of the book “Facts from Space!” that was released this past October.
Book signings will start at 6:20 p.m. in Steigerwald Hall.
Both Mr. Regas’ talk and the night sky viewing at the BB&T Observatory on the Thomas More campus are free and open to the public.
No reservations are necessary.
This program is intended for general audiences, all ages are welcome.
