When Emerald Trace on Turkeyfoot opens its doors next month, the new $14 million senior living community will be led by a few familiar faces. Londa Knollman and Brad Stanford, executive director and administrator at nearby Rosedale Green in Covington, will expand their respective roles to include the pair of sister campuses.
“Having spent the last dozen years at Rosedale Green, and overseeing the outstanding services we provide local seniors and their families, I’m excited to bring that same culture of compassion and professionalism to Emerald Trace,” said Knollman, who’s worked in the field of long-term care for more than 25 years.
Knollman will lead a team of approximately 85 full-time employees, ranging from administrative and grounds staff, to nurses and other direct-care professionals. All will support the 74 skilled nursing and memory care residences, split between two buildings on the 16-acre campus.
“I’m eager for families to experience the Household Model firsthand, and see how person-centered care differs from hospital-based models that most people associate with senior living,” she said. “We’re fundamentally changing how we support older adults. We’ve put significant time and resources into researching this model and touring similar communities, and I believe anyone who steps on our campus will notice an immediate difference.”
Joining Knollman at Emerald Trace is Vanessa Jennings, the new clinical care coordinator at the community’s memory support household. She’ll be responsible for ensuring residents and their families receive the highest level of care and support, including personalized, life-enriching programs and activities, regular assessments and ongoing discussions with families about their loved one’s status and progression.
“Our goal is to support each resident in achieving a higher level of functioning, and an improved quality of life,” said Jennings, who’s worked in long-term care for more than 40 years, 26 of which involved specialized services for seniors with Alzheimer’s and related dementia. “Our mission is to also focus on the individual strengths and abilities of each person, to help preserve the many skills and characteristics that make them who they are.”
Other senior personnel who’ve joined the Emerald Trace team include:
· Julie Price, marketing director: Price joined Rosedale Green in June as community relations director and will assume the responsibilities of the new campus as well. She spent the last decade working in senior living in Cincinnati before moving to Covington this summer.
· Dustin Menetrey, rehabilitation director: With a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky, Menetrey began his career in outpatient sports orthopedics before realizing his passion was in skilled nursing/long term care. He began working at Rosedale Green in 2013, assuming the rehabilitation director role there a year later.
