Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Thomas D. Baxter, Ken DeLane McKenney and Robert Edward Beaty have been appointed to the Board of Respiratory Care.
• Thomas D. Baxter, of Melbourne, is a program director at Northern Kentucky University. Dr. Baxter shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2019.
• Ken DeLane McKenney, of Bowling Green, is the Respiratory Care Director and an associate professor at Southcentral Ky. Comm. and Tech. College. Mr. McKenney shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2019.
• Robert Edward Beaty, of Shelbyville, is a respiratory care practitioner at Passport Health Plan. Mr. Beaty shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2017.
The Board of Respiratory Care consists of seven gubernatorial appointees. It is in charge of regulating respiratory care licensing and overseeing that all licensed respiratory care practitioners in Kentucky practice within the state’s code of conduct.
Tommy J. Fridy has been appointed to the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
• Tommy J. Fridy, of Sebree, is an attorney. Mr. Fridy shall serve for a term expiring January 21, 2020. He will represent Western Kentucky.
The Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is composed of five members, four of whom are appointed by the Governor. The Commission is charged with ensuring that no deep well is drilled until the merits of such drilling have been fully reviewed, thereby preserving the environment in and around the deep well.
Karen Lynn Leek, Sharon Lynn Whitaker, Jaime Warren and Amy Adkins have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
• Karen Lynn Leek, of Verona, is a radiologic technologist at Northern Kentucky University. Ms. Leek shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2020. She will represent general diagnostic radiography.
• Sharon Lynn Whitaker, of Irvine, is the Radiology Director at Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital. Ms. Whitaker shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2020. She will represent educators/administrators.
• Jaime Warren, of Louisville, is the Director of Norton Healthcare. Ms. Warren shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2020. She will represent licensed nuclear medicine technologists.
• Amy L. Adkins, of Winchester, is the Radiology Director at Baptist Health Lexington. Ms. Adkins shall serve for a term expiring October 31, 2020. She will represent post-primary certification.
The Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy was created to promote, preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky by regulating and licensing individuals who use ionizing or non-ionizing radiation as advanced imaging professionals, medical imaging technologists, limited x-ray machine operators or any combination of professionals licensed under this Board. The Board consists of nine members appointed by the Governor.
