The Kenton County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted again about a scam regarding calls by persons identifying themselves as being with the sheriff’s office
The caller says there is a Federal Bench Warrant for the person’s arrest and promises to make arrangements for the warrant for a specified amount of money paid on a credit card or money order
Sheriff Chuck Korzenborn emphasizes that the sheriff’s office does not call individuals who may have an active warrant.
The scammers have set up a voicemail with a recording as if it is the Kenton County Sheriff’s office.
If you receive a call of this sort, do not respond of engage these callers. Don’t give them any kind of information. This is a SCAM.
Instead, call the Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, Office of Constumer Protection at 888-432-9257 to report the call.
