The City of Erlanger Fire/EMS Department has received a $15,000 grant from Archer Daniels Midland Company.
The Department plans to use the grant to purchase two Bullard Eclipse LDX Thermal Imaging Cameras.
Thermal imaging cameras recognize emitted heat energy using a variety of filters and can detect energy emitted through a door or wall. This indicates that the door or wall is hot and there is a lot of heat on the opposite side.
While they are called cameras, fire service thermal imaging devices only detect differences in heat signatures.

“Thermal Imaging Cameras are lifesaving tools of the trade,” said Erlanger Fire/EMS Chief Todd Whitaker. “We are extremely grateful to ADM for their contribution to our department, and their dedication to our community.”
The donation was given through ADM Cares, a social investment program which directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic, and environmental progress worldwide.
The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities, and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.
