The new year typically brings New Year’s Resolutions – I want to lose weight, I’m going to exercise more, I plan to read more, I want to have more family time, I’m going to get healthy, I’m going to be a more positive person, learn a language, I want to learn a hobby, etc., etc.
We’ve all heard them and we’ve all made them. But the truth is, keeping a resolution is hard.
The staff of the Kenton County Public Library knows this and wants to help you keep your resolution in 2017. The library is offering several programs and services to make that resolution easier.
Kenton County Diabetes Support Group, Tuesday, January 3, 6:30-8 pm – Erlanger
Join the Northern Kentucky Health Department for tips, resources and support.
Coloring Pages, Tuesday, January 3, 7 pm & Wednesday, January 4, 10 am – Covington
Find your zen in a relaxing environment for coloring creations. Lots of coloring pages to choose from and refreshments provided.
Health & Wellness Fair, Thursday, January 5, 3-6 pm – Erlanger
Visit with local pharmacies, healthy-eating restaurants, training facilities, medical suppliers and others to educate yourself on healthy habits to start the new year. Sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Tai Chi & Chai Tea, Fridays, January 6 & 27, 10:30 am – Durr Branch
Master Fahey, a sixth degree black belt, will teach an easy course in the gentle and low-impact martial art of Tai Chi. Chai Tea will also be served.
Spanish English Storytime, Friday, January 6, 4-5 pm
Bilingual storytime is presented in English and Spanish allowing children and their families to engage through stories, finger plays, music, activities and a craft.
Healthy Choices for Every Body, Fridays, January 13, 20 & 27, 11 am – Covington
Attend this series to learn how to stretch your grocery budget, prepare low-cost, quick and healthy meals, better breakfast eating habits, food safety and preparation skills. Adults only.
Coupon Clippers, Sunday, January 15, 2 pm – Covington
We will be clipping coupons, exchanging coupons and sharing tips and tricks for both regular and e-couponing. Bring flyers if you have them.
Build a Fort Night at the Library, Monday, January 16, 7-8 pm – Erlanger
Kids and adults bring blankets, flashlights and stuffed animals for some great family time while making a fort, sharing stories with one another and more.
Rediscovering Your Mission, Saturday, January 21, 1-3:30 pm – Covington
At the end of this interactive workshop you’ll be prepared to set a new or more refined course for your life with your own personal mission statement. This means more intention, more focus and best of all a more fulfilling life. Presented and facilitated by Alexia Zigoris.
DIY Charm Bracelets, Monday, January 23 at 4 p.m. – Covington
Make your own winter charm bracelet to keep. Supplies provided, limited to the first 20 children in attendance. School-age children only.
Cook-a-Book, Saturday, January 28, 11 am – Covington
Join us for a new monthly series where we’ll read a book and then cook a yummy treat! This month our theme is “If You Give a Mouse A Cookie.” We’ll read the book, bake cookes and make a craft. Please register at www.kentonlibrary.org/events.
