Northern Kentucky’s Holland garners Horizon League Player of the Week honors

The Louisville (Ballard HS) native averaged 23.5 points behind 48 percent (13-of-27) shooting from the floor, including an impressive 53 percent (9-of-17) from 3-point territory.

Holland’s efforts helped Northern Kentucky improve to 7-3 on the season, its best record as a Division I program. The Norse have also won four true road games, which is currently tied for the most road victories in the nation. And, among the group of nine teams tied with four true road wins, NKU has the highest winning percentage (.800).

CollegeSportsMadness.com also named Holland its Horizon League player of the week.

This is the second-straight league player of the week honor for the Norse, as Holland’s teammate Drew McDonald was tabbed co-player of the week last week following a 32-point, 11-rebound effort at Morehead State and another 18 points at Norfolk State. Carson Williams earned freshman of the week honors after the opening weekend of play.

NKU next takes the court on Sunday, Dec. 18, when it hosts Eastern Washington (7-2 overall) in a 1 p.m. showdown at BB&T Arena.
