Turfway Park cancels live racing card for Thursday; facility remains open for simulcasting

Due to expected frigid temperatures, Turfway Park in Florence has canceled live racing for Thurs., Dec. 15. The track will remain open for simulcasting.

Tufrway Park General Manager Chip Bach said on Turfway’s Horseman’s page that he wanted to make sure there were no forecast changes before the decision to cancel was made.

Live racing is expected to resume Fri., Dec. 16, at the usual first post of 6:15 p.m.

Turfway Park opened its 42nd Holiday thoroughbred race meet Nov. 30, racing Wednesday through Sunday through Dec. 31.

Admission and parking are free.

First post is 6:15 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday with nine races each day. The track will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
