Scott outscored Mason County, 20-10, in the fourth quarter to come away with a 75-57 win in a 10th Region first-round game on Thursday at Mason County Fieldhouse.
Senior guard Jake Ohmer scored a game-high 28 points for the Eagles, who will play Paris in a semifinal game at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The other double-figure scorers for Scott were senior Vinny Dumlao with 17 points and Chad Ohmer with 12.

Scott had a 39-31 lead at halftime and held off charges by the home team. Mason County hit a 3-point shot at the start of the fourth quarter to pull within 55-50 before the Eagles’ strong finish.
Campbell County will play Bracken County in the other regional semifinal game at 6 p.m. Monday. If Scott and Campbell County both win, they’ll meet in the championship game for the second time in three years.
SOUTH OLDHAM 76, WALTON-VERONA 64
Walton-Verona trailed by only one point, 50-49, going in the fourth quarter and South Oldham pulled away to win the first-round game in the 8th Region tournament at Henry County.
The winners shot 50 percent (29 of 58) from the field and made 11 3-point goals. Walton-Verona shot 43 percent (23 of 54) with six treys.
Each team had four double-figure scorers. The leaders with South Oldham junior guard Devin Young with 20 points and Walton-Verona sophomore center Dionte Miles with 16. Junior guard Zack Clinkenbeard had 12 points, 13 rebounds and six assists for the Bearcats, who finish the season with a 28-7 record.
