Jake Ohmer scored 46 points in his team’s regional semifinal victory.

The Scott boys’ basketball team will try to break a six-game losing streak against Campbell County when the 37th District rivals clash in the 10th Region championship game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mason County Fieldhouse.

Both teams won close games in the regional semifinals on Monday to set up the rematch. Campbell County knocked off Bracken County, 64-59, and Scott got past Paris, 70-67.

The last time Scott defeated Campbell County was during the 2014-15 regular season. The Camels have won the last six games against the Eagles, including two games this season that were decided in the final seconds.

Scott senior guard Jake Ohmer scored 46 points in his team’s regional semifinal win over Paris. He got 32 points in the second half, including a field goal and free throw in the final seconds that gave the Eagles a 68-67 lead. Two free throws by Jaycob Pouncey with 12 seconds to play clinched the three-point victory.

Ohmer nearly surpassed the 10th Region tournament single-game scoring record of 47 points that was set by Billy Ray Fawns of Montgomery County in 1995.

Campbell County scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to get past Bracken County in the other semifinal game. The Camels went on an 11-3 run to open up a 54-47 and made free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

The leading scorer for the Camels was Cole Hegyi with 18 points, followed by Joel Day with 12 and Tanner Clos with 11.
