Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman arrested, charged with burglary, theft of a controlled substance

Kentucky State Police, Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations – West (DE/SI West), have arrested the Sheriff of Carroll County, Jamie Kinman.

Kinman turned himself in at the Grant County Courthouse Wednesday, where he was reportedly processed and released.

He has been charged with 2 counts of Burglary and 2 counts of Theft of a Controlled Substance.

Kinman was acquitted on charges of official misconduct and tampering with evidence in December.

He had been accused of taking painkillers from his department’s evidence locker in 2013.

In February, Kinman handed over control of his office to a chief deputy while he reportedly participated in a rehabilitation program, but remained in office.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s office website indicates Kinman is active in Champions for a Drug Free Carroll County.

The investigation is ongoing.
