The Kenton County Emergency Communications Center (KCECC) celebrated its latest accreditation by the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP). This certification puts the Center among the elite within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
“The accreditation was the culmination of two years of effort,” said KCECC Director Tommy Thompson. “Much of the credit belongs to Ashley Hawks and former Executive Director Ed Butler. It was a lot of work and we were supported by our supervisors, trainers and dispatchers.”

The KACP Communications Accreditation Program is beneficial to the Communications Agencies by providing tools to help detect any potential deficiencies and enhance the agency operations. It provides recognized standards for agencies to evaluate and to improve their overall performance. This accreditation demonstrates that KCECC has met the accepted standards for efficient and effective operations.
“Being one of the first fifteen accredited agencies within the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a badge of honor indicating constant self-evaluation and improvement on our part at KCECC,” said Assistant Director Ashley Hawks. “It has reset the bar to new heights and standards of excellence that we have attained and will continue to strive to maintain.”
The Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police was formed in 1971 to secure official and personal cooperation among law enforcement executives and the citizens of Kentucky. The membership consists of over 500 Kentucky Law Enforcement Executives including Police Chiefs, Sheriffs, State and Federal Law Enforcement Administrators and Railroad Police.
