Hometown Heroes Sports Café celebrated its grand opening in Dayton on Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Mayor Virgil Boruske.
The new restaurant is located at 517 Sixth Avenue, in the Dayton Main Street District.

The Hometown Heroes is owned by Dayton residents Tim Hall and Crystal Johnson who have a strong love of Dayton and have decorated the restaurant with Dayton sports photos and memorabilia.
It’s not just sports. Every table at Hometown Heroes has a chess board in honor of Dayton’s newest hometown heroes the Dayton Green Knights — the winning chess program Lincoln Elementary and Dayton Middle School.
Tim Hall and Crystal Johnson described Hometown Heroes as, “Hometown Heroes is Dayton’s neighborhood family friendly spot with great burgers, wings, chili and coneys close to home in the core of Dayton’s Main Street District.”
Initially, Hometown Heroes will be open Monday – Friday from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. and Saturday from noon until midnight. Hometown Heroes has 30 indoor seats and about 60 seats on their patio.
