Staff report
Fort Wright city council will consider a request at its meeting tonight to change the zoning on a piece of property at 2809 Howard Litzler from residential to industrial park.
The property abuts a Latonia neighborhood from W. 33rd to W. 35th Street. The Latonia neighbors are opposed to the rezoning though Fort Wright city council appears to be ready to approve it.

A public hearing on the rezoning was held at the Kenton County Planning Commission on March 2. The staff recommended against the application and the commission voted 11 to 8 to deny the application.
That recommendation is not binding.
On March 14, Covington city commission voted to urge Fort Wright council to deny the amendment to the zoning map.
The request for the rezoning comes from Kent Wessels of KWI Properties LLC and involves 6.21 acres located on the northeast corner of the intersection of KY 17 with Howard Litzler Drive.
The property is owned by the Bonnie Ellison Trust.
KWI Properties wants to build a large warehouse there on speculation.
The Latonia neighbors who are objecting to the change question the undefined nature of the building’s use. A new industrial zoning provides for a range of uses. They also object to the variances for buffers.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Fort Wright city building. Comment time is limited.
