Master Provisions and the Jovante Woods Foundation are hosting “Shuffling with the Stars” Saturday, April 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at JACK Cincinnati Casino.
The evening will feature the first ever Group Ickey Shuffle taught by former Bengal All-Pro Ickey Woods with assistance from Bob Herzog, of Local 12 News, the event emcee.
Tickets are $125 per person and include a Tail Gate-themed buffet, two drink tickets, complimentary parking in the JACK Cincinnati Casino garage and dancing to two great bands, Cincy Rockers and Smoooth. Proceeds benefit both Master Provisions’ work to aid people in need and the Jovante Woods Foundation’s work to fight asthma.
Guests will also be able to bid on one-of-a-kind auction items, including signed sports memorabilia.
Ickey Woods will be joined by other past Bengals including Ira Hillary, Barney Bussey, Eric Thomas, and Joe Kelly, as well as current Bengal captain Vinny Rey.
“One in ten Americans suffers from asthma and the mortality rate for children under 19 with asthma has risen 80% in recent years,” said Ickey Woods, President of the Jovante Woods Foundation. “Support is crucial.”
The Jovante Woods Foundation was founded in memory of Ickey’s son, Jovante, who died suddenly from a severe asthma attack in 2010.
“We hope everyone will come out to help support asthma education, screenings and awareness, and research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center,” Woods said.
“Poverty is all too real for many families in our region,” said Master Provisions’ president Roger Babik. “We know one in six people faces hunger, and often for children, the rate is even worse—more like one in five. Master Provisions works to feed these hungry people, provide clothing to the poor, and care for orphans through financial sponsorships.”
Tickets can be purchased online at jovantewoodsfoundation.org where you can also learn more about their work. To engage with Master Provisions to fight poverty, go to masterprovisions.org.
