ReSource, the only nonprofit resource center of its kind in the Greater Cincinnati region, has been awarded a grant for $12,160 from the Elsa Heisel Sule Foundation.
The grant will allow the non-profit to implement internal technological upgrades to better serve its 300 non-profit partners.
“Our computers and network were about 8-10 years old so this was sorely needed!” said Christie Brown, Executive Director with ReSource. “We are also researching inventory systems to learn how to best utilize the grant to improve and streamline the processing of donated product. With this enhancement, we will be able to better communicate product availability to our members to meet their needs.”
The Elsa Heisel Sule Foundation is a Charitable Trust established in 2004 by Elsa Sule, a native of Northern Kentucky.
It is an independent philanthropic foundation that makes grants to nonprofit organizations and public agencies that have qualified charitable purposes, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, primarily in the tri-state areas of Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. It is focused on providing opportunities specifically in education, community and the arts.
ReSource is a nonprofit agency founded in 1986 by leading Cincinnati businessman Robert Castellini and the board of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. They help businesses dispose of things they don’t need, e.g., surplus furniture, equipment and merchandise, and help qualified non-profits purchase those items at 10 to 30% of what they would otherwise pay. They also provide high quality training and support to more than 250 nonprofit employees and volunteers each year.
Since its founding, ReSource has helped more than 1,800 nonprofits attain the inventory they need to run their organizations and to help their constituents. ReSource’s efforts have saved nonprofits over $40 million while allowing regional and national companies to reduce their overhead of excess products.
