Update: Bridge repairs on Interstate 71/75 southbound in NKY scheduled for this weekend postponed

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 office has postponed bridge repair work scheduled for Interstate 71/75 southbound in Northern Kentucky due to inclement weather.

The new schedule is as follows:

A bridge expansion joint replacement project on four interstate bridges along I-71/I-75 southbound between Dixie Highway Exit 188 and the I-71/I-75/I-275 interchange will require lane closures over two weekends.

Lane closures will be in place starting Friday, May 12 at 10 p.m. until Monday, May 15 at 7 a.m.
Starting at 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday morning, one lane will be open.  From 6 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday, two lanes will be open for traffic.

Then from 11 p.m. Sunday night until 7 a.m. Monday, May 15, one lane will be open so that crews can remove barrier walls in the project area.  The same schedule will be followed during May 19 – 22.   That weekend both the Buttermilk Pike Exit 186 and Buttermilk Pike entrance ramp will be closed.  The project will be completed Monday morning, May 22 at 7 a.m.

This weekend work will have major impacts to Southbound travel time. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate Southbound routes while this work is in progress.

Work is weather dependent.
