On May 11, ACDelco is sponsoring “National Day of Service,” where we are partnering with mechanics and charitable organizations in 25 states to do free vehicle repairs for people in need such as single mothers, veterans and financially strapped families.
Local Florence repair center and Cincinnati-based Glenway Auto Center has signed up to participate and will be providing $5,000 in free repairs to a number of people in need from the local area. Those people have already been identified in advanced.
Mark Drennan, General Director of ACDelco, will also be on hand.
Paying for vehicle repairs is a growing issue in the U.S., as AAA estimates that 64 million drivers could not pay out-of-pocket for an average repair bill of $500 to $600 without taking on debt. Many Americans don’t even have that option, and end up parking their vehicles when they break down, which can put their jobs at risk. Others end up driving in an unsafe condition.
