People in the News: Dawn Denham joins Chamber; 30 graduate from Kenton County Government Academy


The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce welcomes Dawn Denham as Executive Director, NKY Chamber Foundation & Program Director, Leadership NKY.

As Executive Director of the NKY Chamber Foundation she will continue to build on the success of the Leadership NKY, Regional Youth Leadership and Workforce NKY programs as they continue to be a committed resource to businesses in our region.

Denham earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Northern Kentucky University and most recently held the role of NKY Director of Operations for SIDIS Corp.

Denham, a Leadership NKY class of 2010 alumna, is a lifelong Northern Kentucky resident and believes in the power of community and the honor of helping others.

Thirty graduate from Kenton County Government Academy

Thirty people graduated from the eleventh annual Kenton County Government Academy.

Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball addressed the group as the keynote speaker, along with Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann, Kentucky State Representative Kim Moser and Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke who runs the academy each year.

“The success of this program is made by the continued support and engagement by our elected officials and community leaders, along with the citizens who are committed to learning more about their local government,” says Tapke. “With the challenges and opportunities facing Northern Kentucky and the Commonwealth, my office offers this program as a way to engage our residents and foster potential community leaders.”

The Academy is a 30-hour program meeting once a week for 10 weeks. The 2017 class met with local government officials and took on-site tours of many government facilities including, Northern Kentucky Water District, Kenton County Detention Center, Animal Shelter, SD1, and the Kenton County Justice Center.
