Northern Kentucky University’s Research and Education Field Station (REFS) kicks off its “Talk & Walk” nature series with the first event, Planting for Pollinators, on Wednesday, June 7.
The “Talk & Walk” nature series takes place at the Field Station, which is adjacent to and facilitates the use of the St. Anne Woods and Wetlands and the Ohio River in Melbourne, Kentucky. Events are scheduled every Wednesday in the summer, and topics explore all aspects of nature.
“The goal of our ‘Talk & Walk’ nature series is to help people understand and appreciate the woods and wetland plants and animals,” said Dr. Richard Durtsche, NKU Field Station Director. “The Field Station is a short drive from the city and offers an enjoyable place to spend the evening experiencing nature.”
The Planting with Pollinators “Talk & Walk” features NKU Associate Professor Dr. Maggie Whitson explaining the type of local plants that attract bees, birds and butterflies.
