The newly formed Beechwood Alumni Association will recognize alumni through its Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. Nominations are being accepted now through August 1st on the school’s website .
Winners will be recognized at a luncheon on Friday, October 13th at Fort Mitchell Country Club during homecoming weekend.
Up to five nominees will be recognized in the following categories: Outstanding achievement in a career; Distinguished achievement as a student, teacher, professor or administrator; Widespread public acclaim in the arts, performing, visual or literary; Extraordinary achievements as an athlete or coach; and Outstanding service to the community.
“We are proud to recognize the notable achievements of our alumni,” said Alumni Association Board Chairman, Jim Eck. “Nominations are already coming in and we expect to have an outstanding group of candidates from which to choose for our first event.” Those who are not selected this year will have their nominations held over from year to year with the possibility for future recognition. The Alumni Association plans to continue the program and recognition luncheon each year.
Carol Beirne, a graduate of the class of 1963, is the Alumni Association Director and has been facilitating the nomination process and overseeing the selection committee.
“Beechwood has approximately 4,000 living alumni across the country and we look forwarding to shining a spotlight on our distinguished alumni for the students and community to learn about their accomplishments,” said Beirne. “We are thrilled to honor our distinguished alumni and create a proud new tradition at Beechwood.”
Beechwood School was founded in 1860 and since 1912, has operated as an independent public school district, currently graduating nearly 100 students each year.
