Covington police are dealing with their second double shooting, and second killing, in less than a week in the same neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East 13th Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night for reports of a verbal argument involving a group of people.
While officers were en route the call was upgraded to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two males on the ground with gunshot wounds.
Antonio Bandy, 25 ,of Covington, was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The other gunshot victim, who is still being treated, has been identified as Marcus Broadus, 40, of Covington.
The shooting took place near the same intersection where 24-year-old Lazuri Collins of Covington was shot at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday. Collins was transported to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati where she later died. Her father, Antonio Collins, 41, the second victim in the shooting, was also transported to UC Medical Center and was treated and released.
That case is still active and the shooting suspect is still at large.

At approximately 7:36pm officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East 13th Street in reference to a verbal argument involving a group of people. As officers were responding to the scene the call was updated to a shooting. On approach officers located two male subjects on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Both subjects were transported to the hospital by the Covington Fire Department, where one victim succumbed to his injuries.
The extent of injuries to the other victim has not been confirmed at this time. Names will not be released until next of kin are notified.
The case is still in the early stages and the shooting suspect(s) is still at large. Numerous people were out when police arrived. The Covington Police Department is asking witnesses to call with information to assist in the investigation. Subject: Death Investigation – Shooting Location: East 13th & Wheeler
On July 29th, 2017, at approximately 1:00 am, officers were summoned to the area of East 13th & Wheeler for a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located 2 victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to University Hospital for treatment. One of the victims, a 24 year-old female, succumbed to her injuries this afternoon.
The case is still active and the shooting suspect is still at large. The Covington Police Department is asking for help from the community for information related to the shooting. Update:
The first gunshot victim, who died from her injuries, has been identified as Lazuri Collins, 24 years of age, of Covington. Next of kin has been notified. The second gunshot victim, Antonio Collins, 41 years of age, of Covington, was treated and released from the hospital.
The case is still active and the shooting suspect is still at large. Detectives have been interviewing multiple witnesses.
