The City of Covington will celebrate the Grand Opening and completion of the new Randolph Park Shelter with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at 6 p.m.
The park is at 226 E. 8th Street in Covington.
In conjunction with the annual Old Timers event, the celebration will include speeches from Mayor Joseph U. Meyer and Commissioner Michelle Williams, and an official ribbon cutting ceremony.
Located in the Eastside neighborhood, the 1,558 square-foot shelter was built by CBS Construction.
The shelter features new amenities including picnic tables, restrooms, grills, flagpole, landscaping and a paved sidewalk. Randolph Park is open daily from dawn until dusk.
The ribbon cutting ceremony is open to the public.
