Whew! The worst is over.
Just when you were thinking it would never end, both decks of the Brent Spence Bridge are back to four lanes for travel.
Routine maintenance on the Brent Spence Bridge, where I-71 and I-75 cross the Ohio River is virtually completed.
The full-time, multi-lane closures and access ramp closures that were in place this summer are complete.
While the work necessitating full-time closures is finished, other maintenance efforts will continue through mid-November and periodic overnight lane closures are expected.
Specific information about upcoming lanes closures will be shared as it becomes available.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is managing this project, which is part of an ongoing program to maintain and improve the condition of the regional transportation network.
But through the Labor Day holiday, there will be no lane or ramp closures.
Appreciate the freedom, and drive safely.
