The Boone County Sheriff’s office and the Judge/Executive’s office are working to sign up volunteers to distribute literature in the fight against heroin in Boone County.
The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 16. The day will start at the National Guard Armory (183 Beaver Rd, Walton KY) with volunteers arriving at 9:15am.
Volunteers will walk door-to-door distributing door hangers that highlight the Northern Kentucky addiction help line along with information to aid in identifying the signs of addiction along with resources for getting help. Plans are to focus in the Walton area on the September 16 date followed by other areas of the county on subsequent dates.
Volunteers are critical to this effort so anyone who can spare some time is asked to register to ensure a well-planned and organized event. Anyone, or any group, who wishes to participate can provide a count of people with names, email addresses to Chris Courtney from the Judge/Executive’s Office at ccourtney@boonecountyky.org.
