Clements shot 1-under 71 on the first day and 4-over 76 on the second day to finish with a 147 total and shared the 11th place position with three other golfers. The state tournament medalist was Jansen Preston of Lexington Christian with 70-67-137 on the leader board.

Lexington Christian won the boys’ team title with a two-day stroke total of 584. Ryle placed sixth with 622, followed by Covington Catholic with 624.

In the point standings used to determine all-state golfers, Clements finished 17th with 475 points. The top 10 golfers in the final standings are named first-team all-state and the next 10 are named second-team all-state.

This is the second consecutive year that Clements has earned second-team all-state honors. He finished 11th in the point standings last year.

Cooper senior Madison Smith and Ryle junior Olivia DiPaolo are among the top 10 in the girls’ all-state point standings going into their state tournament on Friday and Saturday at Bowling Green Country Club.

Smith is in seventh place with 485 points and DiPaolo is next in line with 480 points. Ryle senior Brooklyn DiPaolo is currently tied for 17th place with 380 points.

Golfers acquire points playing in 18-hole tournaments during the season. The number of points awarded in each event is based on the size of the field. Each golfer is limited to counting points from seven tournaments.

Points are awarded to the top 20 scorers in both the boys’ and girls’ state tournaments. When the final totals are decided, the point leaders are named Mr. and Miss Kentucky Golf.
