With the Midwest locked in a deep freeze, Turfway Park has canceled its traditional New Year’s Day live racing card, Monday, Jan 1. The cancellation is the third consecutive lost card and the fourth since winter slammed into Northern Kentucky last Wednesday.
The track will be open from 11:15 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday for simulcast racing from such tracks as Gulfstream Park, Fair Grounds and Santa Anita.
Live racing is next scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 4, opening the winter/spring meet.
